Weg met Kanker

When Patrick van Seumeren was diagnosed with cancer on October 15, 2014, he knew almost immediately that he wanted to do something positive with his illness. Not long after, he founded the Weg met Kanker Foundation. He knew better than anyone how important it was to be able to recharge in a nice place. Away from the cancer after each treatment. Away from the hospital, surrounded by positive energy, he could relax and find the strength to continue fighting his illness with full dedication.

 

Because he was well aware that not all his fellow sufferers could get away, he came up with the idea to offer a fully catered weekend through a foundation. A long weekend away, not having to think about the disease for a while, but enjoying with loved ones, to create beautiful memories.

 

He saw the 8-kilometer run during the Amsterdam Marathon as a starting point to make his foundation known. A sporting challenge, but because of the not too long distance also feasible for the less sporty among us. After a great success last year, eventually more than 100 people ran for the foundation, we plan to get even more enthusiasts on their feet this year

 

To our great sorrow, Patrick was unable to win the battle and passed away on November 4, 2015. In memory of Patrick, we would like to continue to spread Patrick's love for his foundation.
